iCERI2025 CONFERENCE
The Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development (MEITD) to collaborate with the Institute of Teacher Education Malaysia Sarawak Campus (IPGMKS) to organise the International Conference on Educational Research and Innovation 2025 (iCERI2025) from 21 to 23 October 2025 at Meritz Hotel, Miri, Sarawak, Malaysia.
The implementation of iCERI2025 coincides with the third wave (3) of the Institute of Teacher Education Malaysia (IPGM) in the IPG Transformation Plan 2021-2025, which emphasises efforts to "Achieve Global Recognition" and meet IPGMKS's Key Performance Index (KPI) in 2025, which is “FightForTheBest”.
Its implementation is also in line with the 4th shift of the Transformation of the Teaching Profession in the Malaysian Education Development Plan 2013 - 2025 to cultivate Research and comply with Cluster 3 in the IPGMKS Strategic Planning 2023-2025 which is 'Strengthening High Impact Research and Innovation Practices'.
In addition, the Sarawak government is also committed to advancing STEM education through initiatives like the Sarawak Education Enhancement Programme (SEEP), aiming for 60% STEM enrollment by 2030. Measures include offering free tertiary education in STEM fields, building science laboratories in schools, and introducing English-medium STEM instruction in secondary schools starting in 2026. Additionally, the state provides special STEM research grants and promotes infrastructure improvements to support high-quality education. These efforts align with Sarawak's goal of developing a skilled workforce to achieve high-income status and meet future challenges
